New Delhi, 18th February, 2015: Israel's Defense Minister, Lt. Gen. (res) Moshe Ya'alon, Ambassdor of Israel to India, Mr. Daniel Carmon and Director General of the Defense Ministry (res.) Dan Harel inaugurated today the Israeli pavilion at Aero India Show in Bangalore. The Pavilion, one of the largest in Aero-India 2015, was organized by SIBAT, Israel's Defense Cooperation Authority, a branch of the Ministry of Defense. 15 leading Israeli defense industries participate in the Aero show and present world-class leading technologies.
Among the systems that were on display at the Israeli pavilion included Air Defense Systems, UAVs, Satellites models, Missiles, Aircraft self-protection Systems, Electronic Warfare Systems, World's smallest Camera Drones, software's to automatically detect objects along with unique technological solutions developed by small and Israeli startups.
Israel's Defense Minister Mr. Moshe Ya'alon inaugurates Israel's National Pavilion
While addressing the media shortly after the inauguration of the Israeli Pavilion, Minister Ya'alon said, " I'm proud to be the first Israeli defense minister in India. We see that as a sign of the deepening of relations between the two countries not only in defense but in many sectors. India and Israel have many shared challenges and interests but first and foremost Israel and India share friendship and strong partnership. I'm proud to see so many Israeli companies in Bengaluru. We have a strong leading defense industry and we're here to share our capabilities with our Indian friends. We welcome and appreciate Prime Minister Modi's policy of 'Make in India' and during my visit we'll examine together with the Indian government the concept of 'Make in India' in order to produce some products in India." Regarding the type of cooperation between India and Israel, Minister Ya'alon added, " We're very flexible and we're here to address the Indian needs. We're willing to work in joint production, joint development and we're available. We're open for every option to work closely with our Indian counterparts."
Ambassador Daniel Carmon said, "There is no doubt that this wonderful cooperation and partnership in defense and in other sectors is contributing to the security of both countries and will continue to do so in future."
Defense Ministry Director General (res.) Dan Harel said, "Israel is a significant security partner of India and we share a joint effort in fighting terrorism. Our pavilion one of the largest established by the Ministry of Defense in recent years, reflects the importance we attach to this partnership, and creates the platform to leverage the qualitative edge of the Israeli defense industry. "
Minister Ya'alon met today Indian Defense Minister Mr. Manohar Parikar on the sidelines of the Aero Show and discussed Indo-Israel cooperation in the defense sector. Minister Ya'alon will leave for Delhi today where he is expected to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Rajnath Singh. He will also be the guest lecturer at the R.K. Mishra Memorial Lecture organized by the Observer Research Foundation.
